Did Ya Miss Me?

I'm sorry I've not written to ya'll lately. I've been so busy that I let this slide. I know it's really called "being slack", GUILTY. The weather has really be great for golf lately...not today though, way too hot.

I last told ya'll about Cheryl taking over the golf packages. That picture of her was when she was 49 but then August 24th came around and look what happened to her...

It is amazing the difference between 49 and 50. Maybe it's "tee-time stress"

NEED I SAY MORE...

Beach and Golf...It says it all!

Good Morning

It's raining. Not so bad that you can't play but bad enough to get wet. We have not seen any lightning so that is always a good thing. But we really need the rain so I can't complain. Besides it's beyond our control so why waste time complaining.

As great as I am at running my mouth this blog is getting a little onesided. So come on folks I need to hear from you.

Welcome Cheryl

Things have changed for OBGA. For all of those who are used to booking their packages with Lyndi over the past 9 years...guess what there is a new girl in town. Lyndi (that's me) will continue to keep you up to date on the golf news but I'm no longer booking packages. I've taken on a lot of other responsibilities within the company. I have to say after 9 years I've met a lot of wonderful people, every spring or fall it seems like a family reunion. The phone starts ringing and I get caught up with everyone and how their year has gone. I've had a lot of fun, it is a great feeling when you can be apart of making someones vacation a success. Although I have to admit some made it a challenge, but that's ok we made sure everything worked out.

But don't worry, I have a great replacement her name is Cheryl Hoffarth. Many of you have already had the pleasure of talking with her. She will do a great job helping you with your golf packages and she enjoys playing golf. Other than that everything is the same, we are looking forward to a great fall.

And to all of you who have worked with me before, please send me a hello, you can even tell us about your past golf vacations here on the Outer Banks. All you have to do is click on the comments button and fill it in. I look forward to hearing from ya'll. Lyndi

No New News

Just another beautiful day on the Outer Banks. I've not heard any news lately. So I guess it is just the same thing just a different day. As for me I've been couped up in my office working and we all know that all work and no play makes for a very boring day.

The Outer Banks...

The Outer Banks is well known for its great fishing, great beaches and has become well known for great golf. But there is so much more to the Outer Banks than most people realize. The history that entails this area is overwhelming.

I know you've heard of "The Lost Colony" the land of the beginning or how about the tallest brick lighthouse on the American Coast "The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse". That lighthouse was moved in 1999 because it was endager of falling into the ocean. We have 4 lighthouses right here in this area. We have wild "Spanish Ponies". We are home to the very first National Seashore Park "Cape Hatteras National Seashore Park" Of course there is the largest sand dune on the east coast "Jockey's Ridge".

So know matter what you pleasure is the Outer Banks offers enough for everyone.

We Made It On Another Cover

Nags Head Golf Links made the cover of yet another magazine! We are on the cover of Carolinasgolf.

See what you're missing if you've not played golf on the Outer Banks. What a view. And guess what...We are closer than you think! So give us a call, grab your clubs and your buddies and head on down to the best golf on the east coast. The weather is supposed to be great today. Only in the 80's with 30% chance of rain. And if that sounds great, you should be here in the fall when the day's are in the 70's and you can play without the crowd. I'm mean let's face it - the courses are going to be more crowded during the summer, we are at the beach. Unless you play on a Saturday or Sunday. That is change over days for the cottages so everyone is leaving or arriving and the courses are sitting empty. But you can come down in the fall and beat the crowds and if you stay and play on the weekday you can really get a great deal. Well if you're still reading this then you've not picked up the phone to call, of course you maybe be waiting for the phone number (sorry) here it is 800-916-6244.

Check out our Great Fall Packages. And while your here you have to play our newest course Kilmarlic Golf Club it opened in 2002 and was home to the NC Open in 2004. The course was designed by Tom Steele (and I have to say hello to his daughter Emily, hope you're doing well) The course is a Scottish Links layout and is named after a whiskey-bearing ship that traveled from Kilmarlic, Scottland and sank off the shores of the Atlantic. But all was not lost, the bottles of whiskey found themselves washing ashore on the Currituck Sound not far from where the course is now located. A must play. Okay, I've rambled enough...let's here from you. Just an FYI I'm off for the weekend so I will be back in touch on Monday. Have a great weekend and play some golf.

We Made The Cover

Check it out Nags Head Golf Links made the cover of North Carolina's Golf Guide. Read all about us: Outer Banks Golf at Its Finest

Folks, we have another great day on the Outer Banks the weather is great temperature's in the 80's, sun is shining and it feels great.

Have you heard about the renovation of Sea Scape Golf Links? It may be old news to some, but for those who have not been here in a while you have to check the course out. The renovation encompassed new tees and greens, an enhanced irrigation system and several hole re-routings. The course is spectacular!

Here's a list of upcoming August Tournaments:
Pointe/Carolina Club Summer 2-Man - August 12th & 13th
Carolina Club Ladies Invitational - August 30
Kilmarlic Couples Member-Guest August 19

Well...this has been fun but the phones are ringing and I've got to get back to the real world. Even if my eyes are seeing shades of green (grass) and blue (water holes). Strange I'm starting to not feel so well...maybe those colors before my eyes means I should leave the office for a while today...hmm If you've been here tell me all about your trip. If you've never been here feel free to ask questions.

Start Planning for the fall

The weather is great today. We had that little bit of rain yesterday for about an hour and it was just enough to put a smile on the greens and fairways. Today it is only supposed to get to about 88 degrees so that will be a nice break from the heat wave of the past several weeks. If your coming down to vacation with your family don't forget to bring your clubs. There is enough here for everyone to have something to do. Some may go to the beach, some may go shopping, but the rest play golf.

If you're here and you forgot your clubs...no worries, all of the courses have clubs you can rent. So no excuses - just get out there and enjoy.

Tired of playing the same old courses. Then grab a group of friends and getaway to the Outer Banks for golf and fun. Start planning early so you can be sure to get those prime tee times. The weather is great here in the fall and we don't want you to miss out.

Nothing Finer than Golf in Carolina

Today started off great even if the temperature was hot and humid. But hey, there is never a bad day to play golf except for this afternoon when a severe thunderstorm came thru the area. Oh well, even the course greens need a break every now and then.

If you've played golf on the Outer Banks we would love to hear about your experience.

Don't forget Outer Banks Golf can put together complete customized Fall and Spring golf packages.
