Not Golf but Boating

This may be a long blog today, but I felt it to be necessary for all locals and visitors to know. Many of us love being out on the water on boats and jet ski’s, it could be for fishing, water skiing, or pleasure cruising, but whatever the reason, we need to know a few safety tips that could save our own life as well as the lives of others.

I spend a major percent of my time out on the water and never really think about the “what if’s” you know…what if the boat sinks, what if someone falls over board, but last night my eyes were opened to these concerns. I went down to one of our public boat ramps to watch the fireworks display only to see a family in distress because one of their family members went out earlier in the day on a jet ski and had not returned. It was now 9:00 at night, I said my prayers for the family and watched as Marine Fisheries put their boat over to start their search. As of my writing this morning I have no knowledge of the outcome. But it has opened my eyes, we always think this could not happen to me, but it can. If you’re properly prepared the outcome can be a safe return to shore. I hope you will read this and take the advice that is being offered.

Boating Safety
Learn to swim. The best thing anyone can do to stay safe in and around the water is to learn to swim. This includes anyone participating in any boating activity.
Alcohol and boating don't mix. Alcohol impairs your judgment, balance, and coordination -- over 50 percent of drownings result from boating incidents involving alcohol. For the same reasons it is dangerous to operate an automobile while under the influence of alcohol, people should not operate a boat.
Look for the label: Use Coast Guard-approved life jackets for yourself and your passengers when boating and fishing.
Develop a float plan. Anytime you go out in a boat, give a responsible person details about where you will be and how long you will be gone. This is important because if the boat is delayed because of an emergency, becomes lost, or encounters other problems, you want help to be able to reach you. Most everyone has a cell phone - carry yours with you by putting it in a zip lock bag to keep it dry.
Find a boating course in your area (U.S. Power Squadron, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, US Sailing, etc) -- these courses teach about navigation rules, emergency procedures and the effects of wind, water conditions, and weather.
Watch the weather: Know local weather conditions and prepare for electrical storms. Watch local news programs. Stop boating as soon as you see or hear a storm.
Be weather wise: Sudden wind shifts, lightning flashes and choppy water all can mean a storm is brewing. Bring a portable radio to check weather reports.
Bring extra gear you may need: A flashlight, extra batteries, matches, a map of where you are, flares, sun tan lotion, first aid kit, extra sunglasses. Put those that need to be protected in a watertight pouch or a container that floats.
Tell someone where you're going, who is with you, and how long you'll be away.
Then check your boat, equipment, boat balance, engine and fuel supply before leaving.

North Carolina Personal Watercraft Law The N.C. General Assembly enacted a personal watercraft law that took effect Dec. 1, 1999. On June 30th, 2000 this law was amended. Below is a summary of the law:
Who Can Operate a PWC?
• No one under 14 years old can operate a PWC in North Carolina waters.
• A person at least 14 years old but less than 16 years old, can operate a PWC if: they are riding with a person who is at least 18; or the youth has first successfully completed an approved boating safety education course (proof of age and safety course completion must be carried by the youth during operation of the PWC.)
• It is unlawful for the owner of a PWC to knowingly allow a person under the age of 16 to operate a PWC unless they have first completed an approved boating safety education course.
• It is unlawful for a person who has temporary or permanent responsibility for a person under the age of 16 to knowingly allow that person to operate a PWC unless they have first completed an approved boating safety education course.
• Any person that was 12 years of age or older on November 1, 2005 and has completed a NASBLA approved boating safety course or is accompanied by a person of at least 18 years of age may operate a PWC. PWC Operation
• No one can operate a PWC on state waters between sunset and sunrise.
• All PWC riders, passengers and those being towed must wear approved personal flotation devices.
• If the PWC is equipped with a lanyard-type engine cut off switch, the lanyard must be worn by the operator at all times.
• A PWC must have a rearview mirror or an observer on board besides the operator to legally tow someone on skis or similar device.
• PWCs must be operated at all times in a reasonable and prudent manner. Maneuvers that endanger people or property constitute reckless operation.
• No person shall operate a personal watercraft on the waters of this State at greater than no-wake speed within 100 feet of an anchored or moored vessel, a dock, pier, swim float, marked swimming area, swimmers, surfers, persons engaged in angling, or any manually operated propelled vessel, unless the personal watercraft is operating in a narrow channel (see below).
• No person shall operate a personal watercraft in a narrow channel (see below) at greater than no-wake speed within 50 feet of an anchored or moored vessel, a dock, pier, swim float, marked swimming area, swimmers, surfers, persons engaged in angling, or any manually operated propelled vessel.
• No person shall operate a PWC towing another person on water skis or similar device unless the total number of persons operating, observing, and being towed does not exceed the number of passengers identified by the manufacturer as the maximum safe load for the vessel.

Reckless Operation Includes:
• Unreasonable or unnecessary weaving through congested boat traffic.
• Jumping the wake of a vessel within 100 feet of the vessel or when visibility is obstructed.
• Intentionally approaching a vessel in order to swerve at the last moment.
• Operating contrary to the "rules of the road".
• Following too closely (see below) to another vessel, including another personal watercraft.

Following too Closely
• The term "following too closely" means proceeding in the same direction and operating at a speed in excess of 10 miles per hour when approaching within 100 feet to the rear or 50 feet to the side of another vessel that is underway unless that vessel is operating in a narrow channel, in which case a personal watercraft may operate at the speed and flow of other vessel traffic.

Kilmarlic Golf Club hosted their 2007 Member-Member tournament on June 23rd and 24th. After two days of competition Bob Natole and Walt Garrett won the Championship. The tournament featured twelve two man teams and thirty-six holes of golf during the two days. Kilmarlic's next event will be the Couple Member Guest on July 20, 2007.

2007 U.S. Women's Open

According to the "Golf Record of the Carolinas" the 62nd U.S. Women's Open will be held at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club. This is the site where this tournament has been held for many years but this year they are in for a surprise.

The course has undergone a 6 month restoration project and will offer a few more challenges for the ladies. It should make for a great tournament. And we wish good luck to all.

Kilmarlic Golf Club will be hosting a Spring Break Golf Camp for boys and girls ages six through sixteen April 9th-11th. The camp will be held from 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM each afternoon. The camp will include structured instruction, the rules of golf, course play, awards, and a box lunch. Instruction will be given by Class A PGA Professionals Dan O'Boyle and Guy M. Thompson. The 2007 Senior Invitational will be held on Wednesday, April 4th. The tournament will have a 12:00 shotgun start. The format will be 18- holes individual stroke play with prizes for gross and net winners within each flight. Players will be fligthed in age groups, starting at 45-years old.
The entry fee for this event is $60.00 and includes Lunch, greens fees, cart fee and prizes.

Kilmarlic Golf Club will kick-off its 2007 tournament season Saturday, February 24th with the Kilmarlic Golf Club Hard Day. The event will challenge our members by forcing them to play the course with tough flag stick positions and tees that will challenge the most skilled golfers. The Hard Day will be the first of fourteen tournaments which nine are members only and five are members and guest. The tournaments will be played between the Hard Day and November.

I have to take the day off from golf to talk about that beautiful Carolina Blue. I just have to say hats off to the Tarheels basketball team as they pulled ahead at the end of the game to beat the Duke Blue Devils. You can just look at that sky and see the beautiful Carolina Blue and know that God is a Tarheel, why else would he paint the sky that beautiful blue?

Cathy Johnston-Forbes has joined the Kilmarlic team as a member of the instructional staff. Johnston-Forbes brings 22 years of experience as a member of the LPGA Tour, corporate clinician, and student of the game to the instructional tee. This is a picture that Suzi with Village Realty in Corolla took first thing this morning. Yes, we Outer Bankers woke up this morning to snow covering the ground. It was absolutely beautiful.Those of us that live on the mainland in Currituck or over in Manteo and the Dare County mainland got to see a lot more snow that those that live in Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk or Nags Head.The great thing about snow here is "here today gone tomorrow". Mercedes-Benz Championship

Vijay Singh won the first major golf event of 2007 on Sunday. He finished with a score of 14 under par in the Mercedes-Benz Championship, held in Hawaii. This also comes at a time when the FedEx Cup has been introuduced for the tournament season. The win makes Vijay the first leader of the Cup and possibly the oldest at 40. It is going to be an exciting year in golf!

New Year's Resolutions

It is a question that comes up every year and there is no where to hide from it. The obsession with starting out a new year with new ideas and new routines will never go away. The idea of a New Year's resolution dates back all the way to 153 BC. There was a mythical king of early Rome named Janus. It was said that Janus had two faces....one looking ahead and one looking behind. It was said that he could look back on past events and forward to the future as well. This made many Romans seek forgiveness from their enemies and they often exchanged gifts before the new year. Janus became the ancient symbol for resolutions and the month of January eventually was named after this mythical king.

The most common resolutions today deal with drinking, smoking and losing weight. I have decided to get more organized....I actually had a list of a few resolutions, but I can't find it anymore. Have a good day!

Tiger Woods - Story of the Year

Tiger's win streak of 6, following his father's death was voted as the sports story of the year. He beat out Vince Young and his performance in the Rose Bowl to defeat USC in January. This is just icing on the cake for a year that might be the most memorable of Tiger's career. Let's hope his stunning play can carry over into 2007.

Out of Bounds Stakes

There are three different colored stakes that one might see on a golf course. There are red and yellow stakes, which mark lateral and water hazards respectively. There are also the white stakes. These stakes mark the out of bounds areas. If you happen to hit a shot that ends up next to one of these stakes then you may or may not be able to move them. It is ok to temporarily move the red and yellow stakes, but if you move a white stake then you are in violation of rule 13-2. You will be penalized 2 strokes in medal play or one stroke in match play. So remember this the next time you hit a bad shot out of bounds.

Year of the Tiger

Tiger Woods just keeps winning and winning. He wrapped up 2006 by winning the Target World Challenge, which was hosted by the man himself. This recent victory brought his win total for the year to 11. He finished with a score of -16, which was 4 shots ahead of the second place finisher. The event was held at Sherwood Country Club in California.

Putt - Putt

It is against the rules to stand behind another player while he/she is taking a swing on the putting green. The idea is that another player could read the line of the putt for their own benefit. Also, if it is a partner or caddy that is standing behind you, then they could help you by telling you how hard and fast to swing. This rule only applies to standing directly behind a player and not to the side or across from them. So remember this next time you are on the green.

The Flu

The timing of flu outbreaks vary each year, but in the U.S. it usually happens during the winter months. Doctors say that the minor epidemics usually take 3 weeks to peak and another 3 weeks to wind down, while individual cases only take a few days to come and go. The flu is the cause of around 36,000 deaths and 200,000 hospitalizations each year. It costs an estimated 10 billion dollars as well. It is said the flu virus never completely goes away, it just keeps getting passed from person to person and finally multiplies ten fold in the winter months. Some reasoning behind higher outbreaks in cold months is that people tend to stay indoors more during this time of the year and are in closer contact with people because of it. The flu strain also lingers longer on surfaces such as doorknobs, car steering wheels, etc...during the cold months. It is recommended to get a flu vaccination each year to prevent yourself from becoming sick. In general, just take good care of yourself and make sure you wash your hands regularly, especially if you want to stay out on the course.

Did you know that the United States of America is the only industrialized nation that does not offer sick time to workers. This means that workers will not get paid sick days. There are some companies that offer one or two personal days that can be used when someone is sick, but that is it. Currently, there is no government sponsored sick time, so companies do not have to offer this to their employees. The result of this is that many workers will come to the office sick because they do not want to lose pay and many more will get sick because of this. With the Democrats now controlling the Congress, there is a great chance that they will push hard to pass a bill which will require any business with 15 employees or more to offer paid sick time as part of their benefit package. This worries some business because this will also increase their costs as well. Maybe if you take a "sick" day to play a round of golf in the future, you will get paid for it.

Course Etiquette

Being polite on the golf course is actually part of the official rules of golf. There are many times when proper etiquette is forgotten by others who may be playing with you. Make sure your cell phone is turned off or to a setting that is not distracting to others. Do not move, talk, or make unnecessary noise when I player is getting ready to swing. The putting green is one of the most important places to remember courtesy. Make sure your shadow does not go across the line of someone else's putt. Also, do not stand directly behind a player's line while they are putting. This can be viewed as unfair and trying to read the line of the putt for your own benefit. The biggest thing to remember is to keep up the pace. Make sure you keep up with the group in front of you. Do not spend hours searching for a lost ball, this can hold up the whole course. We had some frost this morning on the ground and I am sure those fairways and greens are hard and fast because of it. It has been real cold recently and we are supposed to have more of the same in the next few days. I am sure there won't be much competition on the course this time of the year.

Also, I have another golf rule that you may or may not know. Rule 4-4 states that all golfers are stuck with the 14 clubs the counted at the first tee. Many golfers think that this includes items such as tees, balls and umbrellas. This rule only refers to the clubs themselves and not equipment. So you do not have to worry about getting a penalty stroke if you borrow an umbrella in a sudden rain storm.

Did you know that stomping on the area around the hole is illegal according to Rule 16-1. You may have noticed that the area just around the hole is sometimes raised due to the hole cutter's tools. By stomping on the area, the dimensions of the hole are changed and you cannot alter the line of putt in this manner. If a player notices damage in or around the hole, he/she must alert a member of the course to have it repaired properly. If a player takes it upon himself/herself to fix the damage then a penalty stroke may be tacked on.

Over the years there have been quite a few golf movies made. There is one movie that stands out in my mind as the greatest golf movie ever made. This of course is Caddyshack. The cast alone would tell you that this is a movie that could make history. Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray and Chevy Chase are some of the big names in this movie....oh and the gopher. Festival of Trees

I realize this is not golf related, but it is an annual event that always provides a fun time for all. Hotline will be holding the 18th annual Festival of Trees from November 30 - December 2. Thanksgiving Storm

Here is a picture of what it looked like last week because of the storm. We had a lot of wind and rain and there are about 55 houses that have been condemned. I would image that some of those houses right on the ocean are in that group. It just reminds us how fragile our coastline can be when the water starts to rise.

The weather has made a turn for the better here in the last couple of days, so all the fairways and greens should be dried out by now. We hope to see you soon.

Tiger does it again

Tiger woods is definitely one of the most dominating golfers of this era. He won again last week in the Grand Slam of Golf Tournament. The tournament was held in Hawaii and this is Tiger's seventh straight victory. He finished 8 under par and was two strokes ahead of the second place finisher Jim Furyk. Tiger has won this tournament 7 times and this is the second year in a row that he has won. It is truly impressive that he keeps getting better and better.

St. Andrews on the Outer Banks

Drug Testing

The LPGA announced on Wednesday that they will institute random drug testing for its events in 2008. This makes them the first major golf tour to have drug testing. The specifics are still being worked out on what substances will be banned and which methods of testing will be used. This is not happening because of current problems with drugs, but the LPGA has said they are taking a proactive role to prevent future use by players.

One of the most recognized courses has gotten a facelift. TPC Sawgrass has gotten a multi million dollar renovation that took place over the past 8 months. There are enhanced greens, a new drainage system and rebuilt fairways. This course was ranked 14 out of 100 in America's top modern courses. I am sure the makeover will only help its ranking. Next time you are in Ponte Verda Beach, FL, you should take a swing at it.

Not golf weather

The weather was great this past Saturday. It was warm and sunny and I spent some time on the beach relaxing. The weather turned around on Sunday and headed South. There were high winds and heavy rain all day and through last night. I had quite a bit of debri fall from the trees and other people's yards. The golf courses are sure to be soaked with water and not in the best shape for playing. Give it a few days and I am sure they will dry out and be ready for another round.

Woods & Els to build Bahama resort

Tiger Woods and Ernie Els are helping to finance a brand new resort on Providence Island in the Bahamas. The Albany Golf and Beach Club has just been approved by island officials and will cost the developers 1.3 Billion Dollars and cover 565 acres. The resort will include a golf course designed by the two professionals and is set to open in the Fall of 2008. It is family oriented and will provide many other amenities to fit the island lifestyle. It is great for the economy and will provide between 1100 and 1600 full time jobs.

This post is not about golf, but it was so funny, that I just had to share....

It seems that voters wanted to send a strong message in recent elections held in Pierre, South Dakota. The County Commissioner position was up for grabs and the incumbent, Merlin Feistner was running against Marie Steichen. The town is rather small and with a total vote count of less than 200 votes it was bound to be close. In the end Marie Steichen defeated Feistner 100 votes to 64 votes. The only catch is that Marie Steichen died two months prior to the elections. So to put it lightly....Feistner was beat by a dead woman. The County Board will now meet to find a replacement for the position.

Beware of the wildlife

Out of all the places to get injured in the world, the golf course is probably not at the top of the list. There are several hazards that some people overlook while playing golf. The biggest threat on golf courses today is something that is not present all the time. I am talking about lightning. There are quite a few lightning related injuries on golf courses. Think about it.....An open area where people are hold metal clubs. It is very important to take shelter if a storm suddenly comes upon you.

There are also other dangers, which occur more readily in the southeast. Alligator attacks are quite common on golf courses in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. There have been many alligators known to hide out in the ponds or water hazards along the courses and when a golfer gets too close, they might be in danger.

So the next time you are on the course, be aware of your surroundings and play it safe.

Adam Scott wins the Tour Championship

This was his first victory in 2006, despite playing consistently all year. The absence of Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, gave others a chance to win the tournament. Embarq on the Greens Golf Tournament

Outer Banks Blue won the first annual Embarq on the Greens Golf Tournament. The event was held on October 5 and the Duck Woods Country Club. The winning score was 1 under par. The prize package included gift certificates to Prime Only Restaurant, Kelly's, Golf clubs, golf balls and various other prizes. Second place went to the team from the Tranquil House Inn and third place went to The Hess Group/Sun Realty. No one ended up winning the car for making a hole-in-one, but there is always next year.

Golf Digest calculated that there were about 32,000 golf courses in the world. Over half of those courses are in the United State of America. The sport of golf was heavily dominated by the British prior to WWI. Not all golf courses look the same. There are many different methods of building golf courses around the world. The destruction of natural land and the use of pesticides and other chemicals to keep up the courses has caused some opposition to how they are built in the United States. So what are other countries doing to change this? In Australia, there is a golf course that is built only of diesel and oil covered sand. There are holes dug in the sand and players must carry a small piece of astroturf to tee off of. In New Zealand they don't change much of the natural landscape for the golf courses. It is not uncommon to see sheep grazing the fairway in some areas. The game may look different, but it is still played the same throughout the world.

Jack Nicklaus is also known as the Golden Bear, but do you know when and where his first major title was? Wait for it........wait for it........wait for it...........It was at the U.S. Open of 1962. Jack was only 22 at the time and the tournament ended up going to an 18-hole playoff after he and Arnold Palmer tied at 1 under par. Nicklaus ended up winning by 3 strokes. The tournament was held at the Oakmont Counrty Club in PA.

Since I talked about the Currituck Club yesterday, I figured it was only fair to talk about the Nags Head Golf Links today (especially since I am right across the street from it). The Nags Head Golf Links is a true Scottish links style course which takes on the natural beauty of the area. Golf Digest called the course "one of the most beautiful courses on the East Coast." The coastal winds are changing constantly and players have to adjust daily to try and compensate for that. It is a very challenging and beautiful course that should not be missed.

The Currituck Club

I am working in Corolla today, so I figured I would highlight the one golf course that is up this way. The Currituck Club was designed by Rees Jones and is a 6885 yard course. It was voted by Golf Digest as one of the top 25 courses in North Carolina. That says a lot, especially being in the same state as Pinehurst. The course is set among the natural landscape of the Outer Banks and offers a few holes that run along the Currituck Sound. Have a great day!

Drastic changes have been made to the golf ball over the last couple hundred years. The idea of golf has been around for centuries. People using sticks and rocks would play on sand dunes and near rabbit holes for fun. Most of the early golf balls were handcrafted, some even from goose feathers. We had a lot of rain yesterday, but the sun has come out and looks like it will be a beautiful day. I would image that the greens will be a little slow, so remember to give a little extra force when you are putting for birdie. The fairways will be a lot softer today as well, so if you need to get under the ball try not to tear up half the grass. Always repair your divots and rake the traps. Have fun and send us some photos of that hole in one ball.

Keep up the pace

Here are a few tips on how to keep a good pace on crowded days at the course. No one wants to be the slow poke who keeps getting a visit from the course marshal. This article was taken from the PGA website.

"Slow play is when your group is not keeping up with the pace of play of the group in front of you. Certainly, all new golfers feel the push to maintain pace of play. Yet, there are several things you can do to help keep pace.
First, walk at a reasonable speed between shots. You don't have to race. Still, you should not treat it as a leisurely stroll through the park.
Begin planning your next shot as you approach the ball by studying the strength and direction of the wind. If you are unfamiliar with the course, ask your caddy or a playing companion if there is any hidden trouble around the green or any local knowledge that might be helpful. Finally, when you reach your ball, check the lie, select your club, visualize your swing and shot and then play your shot.
From the time you select your club until you actually hit your shot, you should take no more than 30-45 seconds. The important point is that you need to be ready to play when it is your turn.
It is the player's responsibility to know where his or her shot finishes. Keep watching the flight and roll of the ball until it has stopped. You also need to follow the shots of your fellow competitors, and help them find where their balls have landed. If for some reason, you aren't ready to play when it is your turn, encourage one of your fellow players to go ahead and play. This is known as "Ready Golf.""

The King calls it quits

In a move that suprised many, Arnold Palmer stopped mid round at the Administaff Small Business Classic on Friday and decided never to compete again. After 4 holes, he realized that his body just could not handle the game anymore. He said that he was aching all over and was unable to make shots that used to come easy for him. He did finish the round, but did not keep score. There has been a steady decline in the tournaments he has played in recent years. He wanted to make it clear that he was not done with golf completely though. He mentioned that his next passion would be helping to build golf courses. There are already quite a few on the books that he would like to pursue. Palmer did a great deal for the game of golf and he will be missed on the course by all who were lucky enough to see him.

I woke up today and found that the temperature outside was a nice 59 degrees. The cold front is starting to poke its head in for the coming weekend. This would be a great time to come down and play 18 or 36 holes on one of our great courses in the area. Fair Ladies Golf League

One of our homeowners in Corolla offers a week in their home each year to be auctioned off. The Fair Lady Golf League raises the money to benefit the Ralley for a Cure. A letter from the "Ladies" is below."

Ernesto...Says it all

Ernesto came through the area last night and today we are all swimming. There will be no play on the courses today. We had a ton of rain the day before Ernesto even came through. Then Ernesto came and with him he brought rain and more rain...did I forget to mention that he dropped a lot of rain on us? I'd give it a couple of days before coming down to play golf. Let things dry out for a day or so. Or come on down and play on the beach then head out to the courses.

Things have changed for OBGA. For all of those who are used to booking their packages with Lyndi over the past 9 years...guess what there is a new girl in town. Lyndi (that's me) will continue to keep you up to date on the golf news but I'm no longer booking packages. I've taken on a lot of other responsibilities within the company. I have to say after 9 years I've met a lot of wonderful people, every spring or fall it seems like a family reunion. The phone starts ringing and I get caught up with everyone and how their year has gone. I've had a lot of fun, it is a great feeling when you can be apart of making someones vacation a success. Although I have to admit some made it a challenge, but that's ok we made sure everything worked out.

But don't worry, I have a great replacement her name is Cheryl Hoffarth. Many of you have already had the pleasure of talking with her. She will do a great job helping you with your golf packages and she enjoys playing golf. Other than that everything is the same, we are looking forward to a great fall.

The Outer Banks is well known for its great fishing, great beaches and has become well known for great golf. But there is so much more to the Outer Banks than most people realize. The history that entails this area is overwhelming.

I know you've heard of "The Lost Colony" the land of the beginning or how about the tallest brick lighthouse on the American Coast "The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse". That lighthouse was moved in 1999 because it was endager of falling into the ocean. We have 4 lighthouses right here in this area. We have wild "Spanish Ponies". We are home to the very first National Seashore Park "Cape Hatteras National Seashore Park" Of course there is the largest sand dune on the east coast "Jockey's Ridge".

So know matter what you pleasure is the Outer Banks offers enough for everyone.

But all was not lost, the bottles of whiskey found themselves washing ashore on the Currituck Sound not far from where the course is now located. A must play. Folks, we have another great day on the Outer Banks the weather is great temperature's in the 80's, sun is shining and it feels great.

Have you heard about the renovation of Sea Scape Golf Links? It may be old news to some, but for those who have not been here in a while you have to check the course out. The weather is great today. We had that little bit of rain yesterday for about an hour and it was just enough to put a smile on the greens and fairways. Today it is only supposed to get to about 88 degrees so that will be a nice break from the heat wave of the past several weeks. If your coming down to vacation with your family don't forget to bring your clubs. There is enough here for everyone to have something to do. Some may go to the beach, some may go shopping, but the rest play golf.

If you're here and you forgot your clubs...no worries, all of the courses have clubs you can rent. So no excuses - just get out there and enjoy.
